Green Jobs Wage Subsidy Program - Applications Open

The Canadian Parks and Recreation Association (CPRA) has secured Government of Canada funding via Parks Canada to support a “green jobs” program for youth. This program will provide direct financial support (via wage subsidies of up to 50%) to local governments (municipalities, Indigenous communities, etc) and other sector organizations.

Even if you are a previous recipient of Green Jobs funding, you can still apply. As long as the youth you hire is different than before, you are eligible to receive funding.

Eligible youth who will be engaged in this program must be between 15 and 30 years of age when employment begins. Youth must be hired for a 'green job', however, the definition of green 'green job' is broad. This might include, but is not limited to:

  • Trail maintenance

  • On the land programs

  • Landscaping

  • Camp Leaders

  • planning and education

  • outdoor rinks

  • natural and cultural heritage

Important Dates:

Application Deadline: Friday, April 11, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. EDT

Applicant notification: Friday, May 2, 2025

Earliest start date for approved positions: April 1, 2025.
