Funding Available for Northern Organizations!

The Canadian Parks and Recreation Association (CPRA) has secured Government of Canada funding via Parks Canada to support a “green jobs” program for youth.

This program will provide direct financial support (via wage subsidies of up to 50%) to local governments (municipalities, Indigenous communities, etc) and other sector organizations. Youth must be between 15 and 30 years of age when employment begins.

What is a Green Job?

The definition of a "Green Job" is broad! They might include, but are not limited to:

  • trail maintenance

  • on the land programs

  • landscaping

  • camp leaders

  • planning and education

  • outdoor rinks

  • natural and cultural heritage

Have an idea, or want to learn more? Please visit www.cpra.ca/greenjobs or contact Robin Young at ryoung@nwtrpa.org.
